Pre-Dyno Checklist
1. Check your oil and coolant levels and make sure they are topped off.
2. Check that your car is not leaking any fluids. Any fluids leaked on the dyno post tune will incur a $100 clean up fee.
3. Boost leak test your car. If you do not have the tools to do so you can purchase them from reputable sites like STMtuned.com and MAPerformance.com
4. Change your spark plugs. Dyno tuning is quite an intensive process for your ignition system and requires it to be performing optimally to ensure a smooth and trouble free tune. If you have questions about what to gap your new plugs at, please feel free to contact us prior to your tuning appointment.
5. Compression Test. Depending on the age of the motor and if there are any problems with the motor; please rent a compression tester ahead of time and have the readings available. Feel free to contact us prior to your tuning appointment if you need help deciphering the overall health of your motor.
6. Zip tie all vacuum lines
7. Excessively stretched tires and or bald tires on a vehicle will not be put on the dyno. Safety is paramount and our number one concern.
8. If the car has been down for an extended period of time, please ensure that your battery levels are within spec
9. If you have opted to install your own parts, please double check your install prior to your dyno appointment
Dyno Appointment
• To schedule your dyno appointment, a deposit of $100 is required to reserve your spot. Once the appointment is complete your deposit will be applied to the balance due for your tune.
• The deposit is NON REFUNDABLE once scheduled. If you no call/no show you forfeit your deposit.
• If you arrive and do not pass visual inspection of the checklist and are deemed unfit to be put on the dyno, you forfeit your deposit.
• If your car is deemed unfit for the dyno you will be presented with the option of having us fix the issues or leaving and fixing the issues yourself. You will then have to schedule a new dyno appointment once the issues have been resolved.
Rescheduling
• You may reschedule your appointment once with a 48-hour notice. If you reschedule under that 48 hour window you forfeit your deposit.
• If you have already rescheduled once and you reschedule AGAIN, you forfeit your deposit.
Mechanical Repair Fees
• At any point in time during your appointment your car needs to have mechanical work that requires the car the come off the dyno, it must be unstrapped, fixed, and re-strapped. No mechanical work will be performed on the dyno during an appointment.
• Unstrapping/Re-Strapping your car will incur a $75 charge on your invoice
• Fixing any mechanical issues will be at our hourly shop rate of $100/hr (1-hour minimum for any work performed)
Excessively Low Cars
• If your car is too low to safely make it unto the dyno, you forfeit your deposit.
• If your car has excessive camber, your car will be deemed unfit and you forfeit your deposit.
We utilize specially made ramps with a 6.6-degree angle of approach that accommodates for low cars and easily allows reasonably lowered cars to be loaded without damage and without being a safety concern.
Dyno Terms and Conditions
If need be, please consult with your vehicles manufacturer beforehand to determine the status of any vehicle warranties and how dyno tuning can/will affect them.
Safety is our number one goal. Every car, every time. Every calibration will be performed with this in mind. Dyno calibrations are strenuous on any vehicle and even with safety precautions put in place nothing can be guaranteed. Apex Powered LLC accepts no responsibility for any damages that are incurred by any of the processes associated with tuning/calibrating your vehicle. We are not liable for any damage that may be caused to your powertrain during any or the processes associated with tuning/calibration of your vehicle. The choice to modify your vehicle from factory specifications warrant you accepting the responsibility of that decision. We do not offer any warranties, neither written or implied.
By signing, your release Apex Powered LLC from any and all liability. Apex Powered LLC is not responsible for any damage incurred to your engine and or drivetrain throughout the calibration process.
